Thank you to all who gave generously to Zoe for Life at our special collection yesterday. We met our $1000 match so Zoe for Life will receive $2000 from St. Vladimirís for their important work! We are grateful to our matching donor who motivated us to do this good work. May the Lord reward all who gave so generously to help mothers in crisis pregnancies decide to keep, rather than abort, their babies!

ďYou receive the Cup which seemingly comes from the hands of man. What is it to you whether the bearer of the Cup acts righteously or unrighteously? As a follower of Jesus, your concern is to act righteously; to receive the Cup with thanksgiving to God and with a living faith; and courageously to drink it to the dregs.Ē

Thank you to all who joined us for the special parish meeting on Sunday, August 18! At this meeting Mikhail Fisenkov was elected parish Treasurer. We thank him for his willingness to serve our community! We also had a very nice information sharing session regarding our income and expenses for the first two quarters of 2019, as well as a very good discussion about tithing, establishing recurring donations, and the need to support our parish whether we are present in the church or on vacation on Sundays. If you would like to learn more about how you can help please visit our Treasurerís Corner page or see any of our Parish Council members:

Special Collection Zoe for Life with $1,000 Matching Grant 8/25/19
22/8/19, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

An anonymous donor has made a $1,000 Matching Grant available for a special collection for our Zoe for Life joint ministry with St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. This is for donations to St. Vladimir made from now until the end of the Liturgy on Sunday, August 25, 2019 and designated for Zoe for Life. We will hold a special collection on August 25 in support of this matching grant, but if you would like to make a donation before then please give your donation to our Treasurer, Mikhail Fisenkov or our Starosta, Jack Mitchell. We thank our anonymous donor and all who will give to help Zoe for Life, a pan-Orthodox effort that helps mothers to decide not to abort their children by providing them with material support they need for their child. If you would like to learn more about Zoe for Life please contact Fr. Gregory, Addie Lanterman, or Leta Nikulshina. Volunteers are always welcome and needed for this important ministry!

If you have questions please contact Fr. Gregory. Yes Ė this is only a few weeks ahead of the festival and those who are working hard on the festival should not feel that they need to help with this event. But those who are NOT working hard on the festival SHOULD feel that they need to help with this event Ė an event that is so important for our parish, deanery, and diocesan youth. IOCC Kits this Dormition Fast
19/8/19, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

The Lenten period in preparation for the feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God begins August 14. It is our tradition to make IOCC School Kits (to help kids in countries that need to bring their own school supplies to school in order to attend school) during this Lenten period. Weíll do the same this year. On Sunday, August 18 we will have a special collection to support this effort. If you canít make it that day please contact Marina Edwards to make your donation. On Saturday, August 24 we will make the school kits following the Divine Liturgy (starting about 10:30 a.m.). This is an important effort to get our KIDS involved in. They will be helping their peers in other countries to be educated. Please plan to join us in supporting this important effort!

Monday First Things - Teachings of the Holy Fathers

ďBut the pious confession of the believer is that, with a view to our salvation, . . . the Creator of all things incorporated with Himself a rational soul and a sensible body from the all-holy Mary, ever-virgin, by an undefiled conception, without conversion, and was made man in nature, but separate from wickedness: the same was perfect God, and the same was perfect man; the same was in nature at once perfect God and man.Ē
