Nativity Ball Planning Time we Need a Committee Chair
16/10/18, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

This year marks the 20th anniversary of our Nativity Ball! Our Head Sister, Leta Nikulshina, has been chair of the Ball Committee for 10 years! And she just cant do it this year. We need someone to step up and lead. Yes you! Not someone else you! Leta will not disappear she will be there to help. In the early years of the ball it was common for someone to lead the committee for year or two and then hand it off to a new chair. Wed like to get back to that cadence. Grab a friend or two and join us it will be fun! Email info@stvladimiraami.org to volunteer today!

Monday First Things - Teachings of the Holy Fathers

Let us not then be ashamed to confess the Crucified. Be the Cross our seal made with boldness by our fingers on our brow, and on everything; over the bread we eat, and the cups we drink; in our comings in, and goings out; before our sleep, when we lie down and when we rise up; when we are in the way, and when we are still. Great is that preservative; it is without price, for the sake of the poor; without toil, for the sick; since also its grace is from God. It is the Sign of the faithful, and the dread of devils: for He triumphed over them in it, having made a show of them openly [Colossians 2:15]; for when they see the Cross they are reminded of the Crucified; they are afraid of Him, who bruised the heads of the dragon. Despise not the Seal, because of the freeness of the gift; but for this the rather honour your Benefactor.

Most of us attend Liturgy regularly on Sundays, but rarely other days. Still, it is good to know when we make prostrations on weekdays, and this is why we have put together this handout. Please contact Fr. Gregory with questions. See the handout in PDF format here:

THANK YOU TO ALL who made it possible for us to meet and exceed our mandated goal for fund raising for the new school building. Already today Jack is running around finalizing permits and we are working to get the building up before the construction season ends. Please continue to pray for the success of this endeavor! God willing we will get the shell of the building up this construction season, prepare the interior during the winter, and be ready to welcome families to the school as they are making decisions about their 2019 school plans. If all goes well we will begin instruction in the fall of 2019 and this is our plan. Your spiritual and financial support have made this possible and we are VERY thankful for your efforts! With Gods help and your support we have great hope that instruction will begin in September 2019!

And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:3-4). They partook of fire, not of burning but of saving fire; of fire which consumes the thorns of sins, but gives luster to the soul. This is now coming upon you also, and that to strip away and consume your sins which are like thorns, and to brighten yet more that precious possession of your souls, and to give you grace; for He gave it then to the Apostles. And He sat upon them in the form of fiery tongues, that they might crown themselves with new and spiritual diadems by fiery tongues upon their heads. A fiery sword barred of old the gates of Paradise; a fiery tongue which brought salvation restored the gift.

Special Parish Meeting is Sunday, October 7, 2018
3/10/18, 12:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

On Sunday, August 26, 2018 we held an extraordinary parish meeting at which the Parish Council was given a charge to secure pledges of $1,200/month for 5 years OR collect $70,000 by September 23 to begin construction of our parish day school. We didnt quite get there but we are close. And we have a lot of fund raising momentum. So at our Parish Council meeting on September 30, 2018 the council voted to call a special meeting on Sunday, October 7, 2018. Archbishop Peter has blessed us to hold this meeting. At this meeting the Parish Council will present a proposal, which was approved at the September 30 meeting, to begin building now. At this point, with the funds and pledges we have raised, we can accomplish a huge chunk of the project. And given the fund raising momentum, we have great hope that by the time we finish the part that the funds already raised will allow us to complete, the rest of the funds will have been raised and we can finish the project on time. But we need your support to do it! So please plan to join us at the meeting this Sunday. More information can be found here:

If you'd like to help us get even closer to our $1200/month goal please visit this link (or contact me - you can only give using a credit card at this link and we understand that doesn't work for everyone):
